1/4/2024 0 Comments Buttercup restaurant san mateo![]() Even on the second morning my potatoes still tasted great after I toasted them in the oven to go with the World Cup game. Everybody was very satisfied and we all had to ask for boxes, coz the portion was very generous. We got the chicken waffles, eggs Benedict, beef hash (the horseradish sauce was yummy!), sausage scramble. I would’ve just turned our table down, but instead both the server and the manager were the sweetest and all the orders flied out, since they knew the other half of the on time people were starving! ![]() The manager couldn’t have been more helpful as she tried to squeeze us in on a packed Saturday brunch (more like lunch since we sat down at like 11:30). We were a difficult table to deal with since there were 3 kids, and half the table was literally late for 45 mins for the reservation, and ended up having 3 extra guests (IKR). There is nothing to complaint about the food or the service as it was top-notch. Give this place a try if you're in downtown Redwood City/San Mateo! Staff were wonderful and very patient as we all order. If you're looking to explore more tastes and reacquaint yourself with those you're familiar with, this place has what you need. Experienced a range of flavours I hadn't before which was nice. Their mango lassi was creamy and fruity as expected good stuff! Their fusion meal we had was plentiful in portions and was exceptionally tasty. The dishes we had were very flavourful and had a variety of spices, great for sampling different things to please the palate. Menu has a large variety of options to choose from for all types of foodies, with plenty of vegetarian options and other health conscious options. Hand sanitization dispensers were available throuhout the restaurant. There was plenty of COVID conscious measures to keep patrons safe and healthy. Dining venue and atmosphere was hip and welcoming with plenty of seating and accomodations- long tables, more intimate 4 seating arrangements, and outdoor dining as well. The outdoor ambience is very nice so we might go again and order different things.Įxcellent take on Indian fusion cuisine. I wouldn't spend $5.75 for a single bruschetta if I were to go next time. It tastes good but you can recreate this easily at home. Nutella, strawberry and cookie crumble bruschetta: Nothing to write home about. If you like sweet and tart desserts, this is a must try!Ģ. Lemon raspberry ice cream pie: Delicious lemon flavored that's topped with a velvety layer of raspberry. Kid's grilled cheese sandwich: Worth ordering if your kids like nothing else on the menu.ġ. Artichoke soup: The flavor was good but we had to get out pieces of the artichoke fiber every bite and some were pretty big. The rest was mainly romaine with very little black beans and other ingredients.ģ. ![]() And the sauce itself was sweet and didn't have much of a BBQ taste. Tested like store bought cooked chicken strips that were just coated in a BBQ sauce. BBQ chicken salad: I would not recommend this. The pastrami was flavorful but the cheese was a little too much and took away from the meatĢ. It was our first time here and we didn't realize that most people come here for the bruschetta. ![]()
